Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVE TO CUSCO + CITY TOUR
Upon your arrival to Cusco, we will take you to the hotel and then join your guide for a briefing about the wonderful tour that awaits you. Today, begin the day with a tour of Cusco enjoy the sights of Cusco´s (the capital of the Incas). The indigenous and colonial heritages then spend the remainder of the day at leisure “by exploring Cusco’s nightlife or sampling some of its many typical restaurants.
HALF-DAY CITY TOUR
We will pick you up at 1:00PM from your hotel to start the tour and visiting the following places.
- The Koricancha: Temple of the sun.
- The Cathedral: Marvel of the religious art.
- Sacsayhuaman: Majestic place with impressive works in stone, some up to 120 tons.
- Q´enqo: (Labyrinth) a religious center dedicated to the adoration of the Earth.
- Puca Pucara: (reddish place) that was used as a military control center.
- Tambomachay: (Temple of the Water) a center of adoration and worship of water.
DAY 2: CUSCO- MARAS- MORAY
Maras, a picturesque community with beautiful landscapes, Moray; an agricultural research center and the Salt Mines, a place where we find a source of salty water from where salt is extracted by evaporation of the water.
1. Maras: The village of Maras is our first stop. Maras was of great importance during the viceroyalty, declared as Villa declared as the town of San Francisco of Asis (it was the principal source of salt in the southern mountains), it’s showed by the church and the houses that still have the emblem of the noble indigenous on their facades.
2. Marassaltmines: The salt mines of Maras, which is our second stop, belongs to the village of Maras. The salt mines of Maras surprises the visitor by its more than three thousand pools that are being worked by more than 360 families that have inherited the custom of extracting the salt; the marketing of the salt is made by the association Maras Sal that looks out for the interests of the village since the late 80ies.
3. Moray: Our last stop are the circular terraces of Moray who are a sample of how the Andean man challenged nature and took advantage of its geographic status, these terraces were used as an agricultural laboratory that let the villagers have a great variety of potatoes and maize among other produce. Back to Cusco.
DAY 3: FULL DAY SACRED VALLEY TOUR
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00am. This is a full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley visiting the colorful Indian market in Pisac where you will be able to appreciate the mixture of color and tradition and have an opportunity to test your bartering skills, interact with the local craftsmen and purchase their hand-made souvenirs. Pisac is located at the entrance of the Sacred Valley. The Valley is (31km)/ (19mi) from Cusco, and at an altitude of (2,970m)/ (9,700 ft.). Followed by Pisac is Urubamba where we have a delicious buffet lunch at Tunupa restaurant then we continue through to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire. They evoke their ancestral inheritance and give you a feeling of what it would be like to live during this time. At the end, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.
DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU IN ITS GLORY – BIG DAY!
You will have breakfast and then your Guide will pick you up from your hotel (5:40am). You will take the bus up to majestic Machu Picchu to catch the sunrise and then begin your walking tour with your guide (approximately 2 hours) after this you can explore the mysterious city by yourselves.
After enjoying a magic time in Machupicchu, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch later we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival to the train station, we will pick you up and take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
DAY 5: CUSCO- SORAYPAMPA.
We pass by your hotel around 6:00 a.m. and then we head to the village of Mollepapa in the lush valley of the Apurimac River. After a well-deserved breakfast that fills us with energy we continue our journey to Soraypampa (3900 m.a.s.l.) and after a short rest we begin our trek towards the Humantay Lake, situated at 4200 meters. After ascending for 1.5 hours we get to see this marvelous place and we return to Mollepata to have lunch after taking our photos. After lunch we return to Cusco.
DAY 6: CUSCO- RAINBOW MOUNTAIN.
The painted hills of the Rainbow Mountain are situated in a remote place in the Andes. This is the perfect tour for a day outside of the city where you can enjoy nature and the beauty of the Andean villages of Peru where the inhabitants still speaks the native Incan language Quechua.
We pick you up at 4:00 a.m. to begin the 3 hour long drive to the community of Quesiuno while passing though beautiful landscapes, traditional mud houses and hoards of llamas and alpacas who enjoy the impressive landscapes around the Ausangate Mountain (6398m/20991ft) which is the highest mountain in Cusco.
The Rainbow Mountain (or Vinicunca) is situated in the Vilcanota mountain range in the southern region of Cusco. It’s a fulfilling trek even for the most demanding travelers and trekkers who will leave you with unforgettable memories, magnificent panoramas, wonderful glaciers, crystal clear rivers and calm lakes. This new route is really unique and a real adventure through natural wild terrain. Once we get to the top of the mountain we will get rewarded with incredible views of the area while we enjoy the majestic red mountains and the Ausangate Glacier Peak. You will have sufficient time to explore the area and take photos before we begin our descent to the place where we will have lunch before returning to Cusco.
DAY 7: DEPART CUSCO
After breakfast, we will take you back to the airport according your flight itinerary.

What to wear
Packing List
- Please limit your total jungle gear to the following essentials:
- BINOCULARS, A MUST!.
- Insect repellent
- Flashlight with spare bulb and batteries. (An additional flashlight is a better choice).
- A rain jacket (and pants for the rainy season) or poncho.
- Two loose long pants and two long-sleeved shirts.
- Quick-drying, tight-knitted combinations of cotton and polyester are preferred.
- T-shirts, as many as days you will spend in the trip.
- A pair of lightweight hiking boots.
- A pair of tennis shoes or sneakers.
- A light sweater or sweatshirt.
- A wide brim hat for sun and rain (which can be secured to your head so that a strong wind does not blow it off).
- Underwear, socks.
- Sandals for use inside the lodge..
